Local photochemical reactions controlled by tunable lasers

Local chemical reactions stimulated by the optical radiation are investigated in the present communication. An analysis of the molecular behavior under the simultaneous influence of the radiation with different wavelengths is given. The opportunity of the controllable operation of the nanotechnology chemical reactions in the desirable direction is also shown. The basic principle of the operation of the 'nanochemical reactor' is to prevent the formation of chemical bond with energies equal to energies of high-intensity laser radiation introduced in the reaction zone. Some preliminary estimations on the laser spectra, power and operation rate are given. There are determined the conditions for effective localization of the optical radiation by the metal-ceramics waweguides. Some examples of the synthesis of new chemical substances stimulated by the laser radiation are considered. The tunable lasers can operate on the basis of tunnel junctions and this structures are also briefly considered. These tunable tunnel lasers can operate in the wide spectral range - from IR to UV. The schematic designs of these lasers integrated with a probe scanning tunnel microscope are given.
