Plan A: How Humanity Can Survive AGI Through Neuroengineering
With Michael Florea
Every proposal to make AGI safe, alignment, containment, regulation, merging, is fragile in the long term. Optimistically they buy a few decades. To indefinitely survive artificial general intelligence, humans must always remain smarter than the machines. In this talk I’ll argue that humanity must achieve Intelligence Dominance Velocity: biological superintelligence growing faster than artificial intelligence, indefinitely. He’ll cover (1) why current AI safety approaches fail in the long term, (2) a theoretical framework for why biological intelligence can fundamentally compete with AI in growth speed and ability, (3) the biotech inflection points and short, mid, and long-term cognitive enhancement strategies that, combined, could increase human cognitive capabilities ~1000x, and (4) the concrete plan, what we should do now, and what the audience can do.
