40 Years of Foresight: A Short Film

In 1986, a small group of scientists and futurists gathered to take seriously a set of technologies most people considered science fiction at the time: molecular nanotechnology, machine intelligence, radical life extension, brain-computer interfaces.

Forty years later, most of these technologies are either working in labs or defining the actual research frontier. This is a short film about Foresight Institute: where we’ve been, and where we’re going.
