Michael Skuhersky

Michael A. Skuhersky is a neuroscientist and research lab leader at Episteme, where he develops methods for recording and simulating complete neural circuits. Previously, he conducted research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), including the Synthetic Neurobiology Group and the Center for Bits and Atoms, as well as particle physics research at UCLA.

He earned his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from MIT in 2024, conducting research under Ed Boyden and Max Tegmark.

His research focuses on computational neuroscience, whole-brain emulation, neural imaging, and machine learning. He is particularly interested in developing biologically realistic simulations of the C. elegans nervous system and advancing technologies for understanding and reproducing neural activity.

In 2017, he was selected as a Foresight Fellow in Mind Uploading. He has also contributed to neuroscience research publications and the development of innovative neural recording and simulation technologies.
