A Pipeline for the Future of Propulsive Landing @ Foresight Space Workshop ’23

With Patrick Finley

Date

Patrick Finley, founder of a non-profit organization, is leading the charge towards progress and innovation among university students. Through the Ladder Job Initiative, rocketry teams from universities worldwide are challenged to build self-landing rockets, with the chance to win substantial prizes. Already, over 20 teams, including notable universities such as Stanford and UC Berkeley, have signed up to participate. Patrick also announced plans to develop a state-of-the-art Rocket Lab at Georgia Tech. While the organization is continuously raising funding, they are also seeking a program director to manage their initiatives. The emphasis is on executing ideas and turning them into tangible results, with a focus on individuals who will bring these visions to life. Although teams face challenges in designing and building their own engines, the organization is exploring the idea of a scalable engine that can benefit numerous teams. Engaging ambitious young individuals in meaningful and substantial progress is a priority, away from trivial pursuits.
