Duncan Cass-Beggs

Duncan Cass-Beggs is Executive Director of the Global AI Risk Initiative at the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), where he leads work on public policy and international collaboration around emerging artificial intelligence risks. He has more than 25 years of experience in public policy and previously served as Senior Counsellor for Strategic Foresight at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), leading work on emerging global issues, technological change and advanced AI risks.

Before joining the OECD, Duncan was Director of Strategic Foresight at Policy Horizons Canada and held several public policy roles within the Government of Canada. He holds a Master’s degree in the Politics of Africa and Asia from the University of London and a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from McGill University.
