Communications Specialist
We are hiring a Communications Specialist to amplify the reach of our Existential Hope program. You will help communicate complex, future-oriented topics in accessible and engaging ways to grow our audience and increase meaningful community engagement.
Our Existential Hope program explores and engages communities in shaping optimistic, scientifically grounded futures. Now we are looking for a Communications Specialist to amplify the reach of the program.

Location: Remote (preference for Europe, ideally Stockholm)
Compensation: Competitive gross monthly salary in the range of 3,000-4,000 EUR, depending on experience, full-time (flexible hours)
Terms: Until end of 2026, project-based contract with potential for renewal
Starting date: As soon as possible
Application deadline: September 15th
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective communications strategies across our primary channels (currently these are X/Twitter, YouTube and Substack, but we would also be open to changing/adding channels based on your recommendations).
- Coordinate and produce compelling content, including video clips, podcast production, newsletters, website content, and social media posts.
- Manage and grow community engagement, fostering meaningful conversations around existential hope and positive technological futures.
- Collaborate closely with researchers, fellows, and external contributors to translate complex concepts into clear, engaging narratives.
- Monitor analytics and adapt strategies to maximize impact and community growth.
Qualifications
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas into compelling content.
- Interest in or familiarity with AI, future scenario planning, existential risk, or governance of emerging technologies is a strong plus.
- Proven experience managing communications and social media for impact-driven organisations, preferably within tech, science, or future-focused fields.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Proficiency in social media scheduling, content creation tools, analytics platforms, and basic graphic design.
We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every qualification listed. Good judgment on content, writing skills, and ability to translate complex concepts into clear, engaging content matters more than having the perfect experience.

- Flexible hours in a fully remote setting, with preference given to candidates based in Europe, ideally Stockholm for in-person work.
