Jasper Götting is a research scientist in the AI and Biotechnology Risks team of SecureBio where his work focuses, among other things, on evaluating the impact of AI systems, like large-language models, on biotechnology and misuse risks. Previously, he was a research fellow in the biosecurity team of Convergent Research, roadmapping far-UVC air disinfection technologies and clinical metagenomic sequencing, and completed his PhD in virology at the Hannover Medical School, working on sequencing, evolution, and transmission of DNA viruses.
