Dana is a Principal at Breakout Ventures investing in the creative biosciences: companies leveraging design thinking to solve biological problems and unlock vast markets. She is a neuroscientist by training, earning her PhD in cellular and molecular neurosciences at Washington University in St. Louis. While a graduate student, Dana was deeply involved in the bioentrepreneurial ecosystem in St. Louis, co-founding a molecular diagnostics company and eventually working full-time for the University entrepreneurship center. She began her venture career at Ascension Ventures, focusing on commercialization-stage technologies with a strategic focus on healthcare providers.
