Jakob is member of the Investment Team at Vsquared Ventures, a leading European deep tech VC. Vsquared backs bold entrepreneurs engineering seemingly impossible solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges, focusing its investments on quantum and novel computing, green energy, robotics, AI/ML, tech-bio and new space technologies. Before joining Vsquared, Jakob studied physics and astrophysics, with a focus on statistical learning, at the Ludwigs-Maximilians University Munich and holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Technical University Munich. Here he developed optical tools for biomedical applications involving state-of-the-art cameras, light sources, and advanced materials ranging from quantum dots, novel organic probes to rare-earth doped nanoparticles. His research has been published and patented. Consequently, he serves as an excellent collaborator for evaluating technologies, engaging in scientific discussions, and offering insights from a Venture Capital perspective.
