Kyle A. Kilian is a leader in intelligence analysis, multidisciplinary research, and project management in the national security enterprise. With over 15 years of experience, he has served throughout the defense and intelligence communities in strategic, tactical, and joint operational environments and led analytical initiatives in digital innovation and machine learning. Kyle’s research interests lie at the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI), complex systems, and international security. He is the Artificial Intelligence and Global Catastrophic Risk Fellow at the Center for the Future Mind, a 2022 Fellow at the Global Catastrophic Risk Institute (GCRI), and a board member and researcher with the Transformative Futures Institute (TFI). Kyle collaborates with the National Intelligence University (NIU) on research into over-the-horizon technological risks and exploratory futures modeling. Kyle earned a Master of Science in Science and Technology Intelligence from NIU (2022), a Master of Arts in International Affairs from American University (2015), and undergraduate degrees in Geography and International Studies from the University of Miami (2005). His current research focuses on risks from multipolar or distributed AI scenarios and transitions in social and technological systems.
