Epistemic Memory for AI Reasoning Agents

An AI reasoning agent is only as trustworthy as the memories it draws on. Florian Dietz is building an epistemic memory system for AI agents that tags every memory with its source and confidence, lets the agent trace where a claim came from and question it, and automatically swaps out unused memories while preserving the ones that matter.

Can an AI agent know where its own beliefs came from — and question them? Florian Dietz is an independent AI researcher, machine-learning engineer, and entrepreneur based in Germany who writes and builds on AI alignment. His work spans neural-network interpretability and debugging tools in PyTorch and the design of epistemic memory systems that tag each of an agent’s memories with its source and confidence level.
