Fellowship for Safe AI Germany

Before 2026, Germany lacked a dedicated home for AI safety talent and research. Jessica Pu Wang founded Safe AI Germany (SAIGE), which has been running a three-month online incubator, and plans to establish a residential Berlin fellowship to further demonstrate the feasibility of SAIGE as a national AI safety organisation for Germany, building the talent capacity and institutional foundation the field needs.

How does a country build the talent base it needs to shape the future of AI? Jessica Pu Wang is the founder and director of Safe AI Germany (SAIGE), building Germany’s national infrastructure for AI safety. A mathematician at RWTH Aachen, she has helped grow the European field through ML4Good bootcamps and the AI Safety Collab, and is now running a three-month incubator to seed Germany’s first dedicated AI safety organization.
