Amit Deshwar

Dr. Deshwar is the co-founder and CTO of Kerna Labs, an AI-driven drug discovery company focused on developing novel mRNA therapeutics. Before co-founding Kerna Labs, he served as Senior Vice President and Head of Platform at Deep Genomics, where his work focused on developing machine learning models of molecular phenotypes. Earlier in his career, he worked at Google, building a highly distributed log-parsing system as well as power supply firmware designed to enable coordinated reductions in peak power consumption. Dr. Deshwar earned his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, where he applied machine learning to oncology and developed tree-structured Bayesian nonparametric models to better understand the complex biology of intra-tumor heterogeneity.
