Andreas Stuhlmüller

I’m cofounder and CEO of Elicit. Our mission is to help people reason well about hard problems. Our focus today is life sciences, where we help researchers and analysts synthesize evidence for high-stakes decisions.

I care a lot about whether AI will make us wise enough fast enough. Our ability to act in the world is growing rapidly. Our ability to understand and steer it needs to keep up. I think that’s possible, but it requires building AI systems that are systematic, transparent, and truth-seeking.

Before Elicit, I cofounded Ought, a non-profit that explored factored cognition and process supervision as approaches to scalable AI alignment. Before that, I did research on probabilistic programming and cognitive science at Stanford with Noah Goodman and at MIT with Josh Tenenbaum, where I did my PhD.
