Becca Carlson

Before Deliverome Bio, Becca was an Associate at Flagship Pioneering, where she originated and developed early-stage biotechnology ventures, and a Scientist at Digital Biology.

Becca earned her PhD from MIT’s Health Sciences and Technology (HST) program, conducting her graduate research at the Broad Institute under Paul Blainey and Nir Hacohen. She helped develop Optical Pooled Screening (OPS), then scaled it genome-wide and applied it to antiviral signaling and protein trafficking, pairing pooled genetic perturbations with high-content microscopy to map regulators across tens of millions of single cells. She also co-discovered a new role for STING as a proton channel, showing that the protein drives proton flux after trafficking to the Golgi. Becca is a Hertz Fellow and an NSF Graduate Research Fellow.
