David Kingham

Dr David Kingham is Founder and Senior Advisor at Tokamak Energy, a UK company that is accelerating the development of fusion power; Tokamak Energy is combining two key technologies – compact spherical tokamaks and the latest generation of high temperature superconductors – to develop modular fusion power plants; it is working close to the mainstream of government-funded magnetic fusion research and benefits from a huge wealth of device-specific knowledge while innovating rapidly. Tokamak Energy has been selected as a Technology Pioneer of the World Economic Forum. David has spoken at Davos on the subject “will science save us”. The answer is yes. We can now see how to turn the great scientific progress on tokamaks into a series of engineering challenges! And we are making rapid progress in tacking these challenges. Tokamak Energy has also raised over $300M of private investment and now has over 280 staff based at its Engineering Facility near Oxford with a rapidly growing team in the US.
