Diogo de Lucena

Diogo Schwerz de Lucena is Chief Scientist at AE Studio, where he leads research initiatives spanning artificial intelligence, AI alignment, and emerging technologies. Previously, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at Harvard University’s John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of California, Irvine.

His research combines computational modeling, artificial intelligence, and interdisciplinary engineering, with recent work focused on AI alignment and the development of more reliable and beneficial intelligent systems. At AE Studio, he has contributed to research exploring the behavior of large language models and advanced approaches to AI safety.
