Henry de Valence

I’m a cryptographer, cypherpunk, and software engineer, working to build tools that enhancing individual freedom and autonomy. Previously, I founded Penumbra, a privacy-preserving proof-of-stake blockchain that unites privacy and DeFi, and did open-source cryptography work at the Zcash Foundation, Interstellar, Chain Inc., Cloudflare, and in grad school. Some of my other interests include number theory, algebra, geometry, and the number 24. I have a blog collecting various writing, and a list of projects I’ve worked on.
