Kristy Hilands
Special Projects (Advisor)
Kristy serves as Special Projects Advisor for Foresight Institute, focusing on strategic partnerships and culture-building initiatives seated at the intersection of AI and Neurotech. Additionally she supports projects and collaborations emerging from Foresight’s Existential Hope program.
Before joining Foresight Kristy served as Director of People & Culture and Operations for Neuralink and acted as a member of the core company leadership team from 2020-2024, a pivotal period of the company’s expansion. Prior she served as Head of Participatory Culture for Burning Man Project, the global nonprofit born from the Burning Man event. There she directed the Volunteerism department and Volunteer Leadership Council, ensuring that the voices of tens of thousands of volunteers worldwide were represented in the high-level decision-making processes of the organization.
Kristy has devoted her career to participatory culture building, the advancement and public understanding of science and technology, and employing the arts as a vehicle for promoting positive futures.
