Matthew Cullinen

Matthew Cullinen is the Founder of Tertiary Impact Capital. He has over fifteen years of experience working at the intersection of philanthropy and finance to drive technological innovation and deployment.

Previously Matthew was Vice President, Global Sustainability at HSBC where he led implementation of the bank’s climate strategy in the U.S. and developed global philanthropic initiatives such as the Future Industries Partnership. Prior to joining HSBC, Matthew was a Senior Director at Pact, where he founded and led the organization’s Energy for Prosperity program, a global philanthropic initiative to improve access to energy.

Matthew has also worked at Google.org and Schmidt Futures, among others as a grant maker and strategist. Earlier in his career, Matthew worked at Bridgewater Associates on the risk team and at RMI where he headed up operations in Asia Pacific at a subsidiary organization founded by Sir Richard Branson.
