Ramon Risco
Ramón Risco Delgado, Ph.D., is a Professor at the University of Seville’s Department of Applied Physics III and leads the CryoBioTech research group, which focuses on the cryopreservation of tissues and organs.
His current research explores technologies for preserving and safely rewarming complex biological samples, with potential applications in transplantation, reproductive medicine, and biomedical research.
Risco began his academic career in theoretical and quantum physics before shifting his research toward biotechnology and cryopreservation in the early 2000s. His work has included collaborations with Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital and has led to multiple research projects, patents, and scientific publications spanning physics, cryobiology, and biomedical engineering.
