Rosie Campbell
I’m passionate about transformative technology and its potential to radically improve the future. I’m motivated by opportunities to solve important, difficult problems using the framework of effective altruism: using reason and evidence to do the most good. In particular, I’m interested in the safe development of AI for the long-term flourishing of humanity.
My academic background spans physics, philosophy, computer science, and machine learning. Previously, I worked as a research engineer in a multidisciplinary R&D lab developing experimental technical prototypes. I also cofounded a thriving intellectual futurist group to explore emerging technology, society and the future. I then joined Prof. Stuart Russell’s technical research team at UC Berkeley working to ensure Artificial Intelligence is developed to be provably beneficial.
I love learning and am insatiably curious. I enjoy intellectual challenges, optimizing systems, productivity, strategic thinking, and communicating complex ideas in an accessible way.
