Zarinah Agnew

Zarinah Agnew is a neuroscientist, writer, speaker, and community organizer exploring how people, communities, and institutions can build more collaborative and resilient ways of living. She completed postdoctoral research at University College London and UCSF and has published around 27 peer-reviewed papers.

Her work spans governance, community building, alternative economics, and intentional communities. She is President of District Commons and the Social Science Observatory, and has contributed to initiatives including the Embassy Network, BIPOC Intentional Communities Council, and the Aspen Institute’s Foresight Fellowship.

Her work is rooted in commoning, collaboration, and experimenting with new models of social organization.
