Design of Receptor Binding Proteins

With Xinru Wang

Date

Xinru Wang, postdoc at University of Washington, stepped in for her colleage to describe the process of designing proteins that bind to receptors. She uses insulin as an example – one of the most useful and widespread prescribed proteins on the market today. Xinru designed an insulin substitute using RifGen and a scaffold library, simulating various motifs for testing via a high-throughput screen. Computational simulation and previously constructed protein libraries are key to rapidly designing and testing protein binding prior to the slower wetlab phase.
