Nanorobots swallowed by a patient for diagnostic purposes approach the surface of the stomach lining to begin their search for signs of infection. This image is taken from “Vital Space,” an interactive movie exhibit unveiled in Summer 2002 at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History, which takes its audience on a fantastic voyage through the body of a female astronaut ravaged by an alien virus.
