Chiara is a King's Prize Fellow at King’s College London, where she is establishing her own research group in ageing and biomarkers at the Department for Twin Research. Her recent work has shed light on the cell-type-specific impacts of exposures on the epigenome and led to the discovery of novel cancer and ageing biomarkers in non-invasive sample types, including a cancer triaging test that is now used clinically. She has also co-led some of the largest multi-omic human clinical trials to date, investigating the molecular effects of lifestyle changes such as smoking cessation and intermittent fasting on ageing and disease. In addition to her research, Chiara is a member of the executive committee of the Biomarkers of Aging Consortium, where she actively promotes the standardization of methods to advance molecular biomarkers into clinical tools. Her work is driven by a commitment to improving healthcare through prevention and fostering a deeper understanding of age-related disease.
