Penghao Li grew up in Changzhi, Shanxi, a city in northern China. He earned a BS in Chemistry from Nankai University in 2011, an MA in Chemistry from Boston University in 2014, and a PhD in Organic Chemistry (advisor: Prof. Ramesh Jasti) from the University of Oregon in 2017. Following his doctoral studies, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow with Prof. Sir Fraser Stoddart at Northwestern University, where he focused on the assembly of crystalline supramolecular networks and the design of functional molecular nanocarbons. Currently, Penghao is a tenure-track assistant professor of chemistry at the University of Mississippi. His independent research focuses on achieving precise control over the spatial arrangement of π-conjugated molecules through covalent and non-covalent linkages, enabling the creation of functional materials with tailored physical properties.
