For your nanotech weekend viewing enjoyment, we bring to your attention a free webcast posted by Institute of Nanotechnology (UK) of a lecture by Sir Fraser Stoddart entitled Chemistry and Molecular Nanotechnology for Tomorrow’s World.
The IoN webcast system gives you video, audio, and his slides all together at one time. It worked pretty well for me, but that was using a very high-speed connection here at the Foresight office, so your mileage may vary.
Fraser Stoddart — now based at UCLA — is an expert in molecular machines, and the third most highly cited chemist in the world. He is also a finalist for this year’s Feynman Prize in Nanotechnology, the winner of which will be announced at the Feynman Prize luncheon at Productive Nanosystems, Oct. 9-10 in the DC area (hotel cutoff Sept 21, early rate cutoff Sept 24). Academics: see the academic discount and deadline of Sept 28. —Christine
