Top Nanotech Researchers to be Honored at Productive Nanosystems Conference

DEARBORN, Mich., June 13, 2007 — Two prestigious nanotechnology prizes will be awarded at “Productive Nanosystems: Launching the Technology Roadmap,” a conference sponsored by Society of Manufacturing Engineers and Foresight Nanotech Institute with the support of Battelle, to be held on October 9-10, 2007 in Arlington, Virginia.

The Foresight Nanotech Institute Feynman Prizes, named in honor of pioneer physicist Richard Feynman, are given in two categories, one for experiment and the other for theory in nanotechnology. Established in 1993, the prizes honor researchers whose recent work has most advanced the achievement of Feynman’s goal for nanotechnology: the construction of atomically-precise products through the use of productive nanosystems.

“The Productive Nanosystems conference will detail the pathways leading to the ultimate in manufacturing, and the Feynman Prizes recognize this year’s most impressive achievements toward that goal,” said Dr. Pearl Chin, President of Foresight Nanotech Institute.

The winners of this year’s prizes will be announced at a luncheon on October 9, 2007. Presentations of the winner’s research are scheduled for the following day, October 10, at 11:30 AM.
