Vivienne Errington-Barnes holds over 20 years experience in throwing events. First socially, then as part of her roles in tech companies in the Bay, and finally she founded an event company called Shift + Alt Events, now with offices in San Francisco and London.
Vivienne received extensive formal training in multiple Waterfall and Agile methodologies during her Finance career in London. She started in Project Management, progressing all the way through PMO to Program Management. This transferable skill set lent Vivienne a foundation of best practice in organizational process and communication that would allow her to run highly complex and large scale events today.
She then advanced into tech, taking COO and CSO roles in B2C series A to B startups in San Francisco. Her last role being Chief of Staff at unicorn, (Calm). During her time at these companies Vivienne gained extensive experience throwing events inhouse for corporate clients.
Requests to plan events from individuals who had attended Vivienne’s social and work events increased to the point that Vivienne eventually decided to leave full time employment and found her own events company, Shift + Alt Events.
Now the number 1 boutique events company for ultra high net worth individuals and corporates in the Bay, she has thrown some incredibly singular events. From intimate experiential dinners for 6 to 1000 person parties, Shift + Alt Events caters to a wide range of clients and event types.
Examples include: fundraisers for James Turrell, (today’s Andy Warhole) at his magnum opus – Roden Crater. Crypto brand launches for one of the biggest Web3 companies, Solana. Private parties for individuals such as Mark Pincus.
Vivienne’s level of expertise in events was recognized by receiving an O1 visa to work in the USA, (alien of extraordinary ability in the field of events).
