Abstract:
There is clear evidence of surface water on Mars 3-4 billion years ago, about the same time life appeared on Earth. Was there life on Mars? If so was it a second genesis? Looking to the near future, is the long term human settlement of Mars possible? And In the far future: can Mars be restored to global habitability?
