Summary:
The AI Safety Grants Program
This initiative aims to support critical research into ensuring AI systems are robust, reliable, and beneficial.
Foresight has received funding to support projects in three key areas:
1. Neurotechnology, brain computer interface, whole brain emulation, and “lo-fi” uploading approaches to produce human-aligned software intelligence
2. Computer security, cryptography, and related techniques to help secure AI systems
3. Multi agent simulations, game theory and related techniques to create safe multipolar AI scenarios that avoid collusion and foster positive sum dynamics
The grant application process is now open and accepts rolling applications. We look forward to receiving your project proposals that could make a significant difference for AI safety within short timelines. Let’s work together to ensure beneficial AI outcomes.

The Norm Hardy Prize for Usable Computer Security
We will also be launching the Norm Hardy Prize for usable computer security, sponsored by Agoric and Protocol Labs!
The annual $10k Prize will recognize work that
- helps users understand, preferably tacitly, the security aspects of what they do,
- introduces workflows that make the secure way to do something the easy way,
- develops design principles for systems that are as easy or easier to use because of their security, or
- explores ‘theory of mind’ with respect to how users interact with secure systems.
The long term goal of the Prize is a set of design principles and tools that encourage developers to create interaction designs that make it easy for people to use secure systems securely.
Please visit https://foresight.org/norm-hardy-prize/ for more info and to submit your proposal.
