Summary:
In this talk summary, Group 2 presents their workshop on the comparative analysis of static neuroimaging modalities at the WBE 2023 conference. Their aim is to conduct a comprehensive survey and analysis of different neuroimaging modalities, considering factors such as resolution, scanning speed, cost, tagging capacity, barcoding capability, and robustness of samples. They also plan to explore qualitative questions related to tissue sectioning and potential challenges during the imaging process. The goal is to inform the research and development portfolio selection for a whole brain emulation project. The group discusses the importance of translating structure to function in neuroimaging and explores the impact of barcoding on resolution requirements. They also discuss the potential benefits of X-ray imaging for neuroimaging and address uncertainties in optical physics and hardware limitations. The group concludes by discussing the possibility of organizing their own conference to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing among experts in the field.
