Nanotechnology & more at Foresight Vision Weekend, Nov. 3-4

We are very pleased to announce the dates and location of the 2007 Foresight Vision Weekend, to be held November 3-4 in at Yahoo! headquarters here in Silicon Valley.

We’ve learned that you demand a highly interactive meeting, so this year we’ll be experimenting with a new format including big chunks of time for the Unconference meeting style which is taking the technical world by storm.

See Why ‘unconferences’ are fun conferences in Business 2.0.

We’ll be getting the event website up shortly, but wanted to get the dates onto your calendar immediately. Special thanks go to Salim Ismail, who heads up the Brickhouse at Yahoo!, for arranging their donation of meeting space. Note that we have a firm limit of 200 participants, so please register early when the site is posted — we’ll let you know.

At this meeting, we gather the best minds to look at the future of nanotech and other revolutionary technologies, and how they can be guided. It’s both visionary and great fun. Speaker/participants from previous years include: Bruce Ames, Gregory Benford, Stewart Brand, David Brin, Sergey Brin, John Doerr, Eric Drexler, Esther Dyson, Doug Engelbart, Ed Feigenbaum, David Friedman, Leon Fuerth, John Gilmore, Bill Joy, Steve Jurvetson, Brewster Kahle, Ray Kurzweil, Lawrence Lessig, Marvin Minsky, Peter Neumann, Tim O’Reilly, Eric Raymond, Paul Saffo, Eric Schmidt, Peter Schwartz, Vernor Vinge, Roy Walford, and Stephen Wolfram.
