A draft version of the Productive Nanosystems Roadmap was distributed to attendees at the similarly-named conference (PDF) in DC on Oct. 9-10. Now participants at the Foresight Vision Weekend will be critiquing and planning expansions of this first roadmap for atomically-precise manufacturing.
IMPORTANT: REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS 4 PM, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 31.
In addition to the Roadmap working session, numerous other nanotech and related topics will be explored in an unconference format. See the meeting wiki for the latest list. Hope to see you there! —Christine
I have a question, if the roadmap is to be “critiqued and expanded” then I assume a version already exists, but I can’t find it on the foresight site, can someone point me to it?
So where is this purported roadmap? Wasn’t it supposed to be published in late 2006? Wasn’t it then supposed to be published Oct 9-10, 2007? And yet it’s still being kept a secret and can’t be found online. I’m left to suppose that it’s just so embarrassingly bad that it can’t be shown to the world.
Hi James G. and anonimouse: The draft was distributed to participants in the Oct. 9-10 Roadmap meeting for comment, and will be available for comment to the participants at the Nov. 3-4 Vision Weekend also.
The final version of the first edition should be ready in November. We were aiming for November 1, but that’s a bit optimistic. Very soon, though.
Thanks for your interest! Good to see that some folks are paying attention to the project. —Christine
It is now November 8. Any further update on when the Roadmap might be released to the public on this website?
The final version isn’t out yet, but you can see the almost-final draft here:
